The Salem-Keizer School District is fortunate to have well-qualified candidates for the open seats on the school board in the May 16 election. To fill the position for Zone 1, Salem businesswoman Kathy Goss is the creditable candidate who’ll have my vote because of her long record of civic engagement and her background in education.
It is noteworthy that Kathy has taught in the Salem-Keizer School District and served as principal and superintendent in the Detroit school district. She gained a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from WOU and a Doctorate in Education Administration from PSU. She served as administrator of guidance and counseling in the Salem-Keizer School District before entering into a business career in real estate.
Kathy is notably energetic, hard-working and an effective manager. She stands for early learning support services, building graduation rates through career-oriented technical education choices and applying resources to strengthen the schedule of instructional days in the school year.
Her experience as a former teacher and school administrator, together with her work in the community and business world, open her outlook to constructive alliances and make her an excellent choice for the Salem-Keizer School Board.
